Save Our Orcas

Dear Sens. Cantwell and Murray,

Our Southern Resident orcas are starving. Fewer than 80 remain today and they are at risk of going extinct without urgent action. To save the orcas, we need to save their food source--the Chinook salmon.

Salmon runs along the Snake River, one of the most important in the Pacific Northwest for salmon spawning, have dropped by 90 percent since the construction of the dams. I support restoring the Lower Snake River by removing the dams, helping to restore the salmon that orcas need to survive and thrive. I urge you to lead on this critical step to save our orcas.

Sincerely,
